Achieve the ultimate, restaurant-quality crunch right in your home kitchen. As shown in the file OTTOGI Deep-Frying Mix, Ottogi Batter Mix (Twegim Garu) is Korea's favorite secret to light, airy, and exceptionally crispy fried delicacies. This expertly blended flour formula is seasoned with subtle hints of garlic, onion, and black pepper, eliminating the guesswork from scratch-made batters. Whether making traditional Korean street food or standard tempura, this mix guarantees a golden, crunchy exterior while keeping the inside delightfully tender and flavorful.

Key Features

  • Unmatched Golden Crispiness: Engineered to create a thin, shatteringly crisp crust ("겉은 바삭하고 속은 고소한") that stays crunchy longer without retaining excess oil.

  • Premium Rice Flour Infusion: Enriched with Ottogi’s homemade roasted rice flour blend ("오뚜기 홈메이드 볶음 쌀가루 첨가") to elevate the nutty flavor profile and provide a lighter, more delicate texture.

  • Pre-Seasoned Perfection: Thoughtfully spiced with essential aromatics so you don't have to add extra salt or seasonings to your batter.

  • Smart Zipper Packaging: Comes in a generous 1kg pantry size outfitted with a convenient, built-in resealable zipper ("지퍼가 있어 사용 후 보관이 편리합니다") to keep the flour perfectly fresh and moisture-free between uses.

How to Prepare & Use

For optimal crispiness, use ice-cold water when mixing the batter.

  1. Measure: In a large mixing bowl, combine 500g of Ottogi Batter Mix with approximately 750ml of ice-cold water.

  2. Whisk Gently: Stir briefly until just combined. Tip: Do not overmix! A few lumps are completely fine and actually help create a crunchier texture by preventing gluten development.

  3. Coat: Pat your ingredients (shrimp, squid, sweet potatoes, zucchini, or assorted vegetables) completely dry. Dust them lightly with a thin layer of dry batter mix first, then dip them thoroughly into the wet batter.

  4. Fry: Drop the coated pieces gently into clean oil heated to 170°C–180°C. Deep-fry for 2 to 4 minutes depending on the ingredient size until beautifully golden brown, then drain on a wire rack and serve immediately.
